A family of Pointers

After finding each other online we excitedly met up with Apollo's sister Biscuit and her family.

Like any car journey Apollo had no idea what destination we had in store for him. We pulled up outside Biscuit's home, she was inside pottering around the kitchen following her nose, meeting her family was like a reunion! We had so much in common - the sleepless nights, the nipping, the fussy eating - it was as though we had been through it together!

Enthusiastic to meet Biscuit we headed inside, Apollo, nose to the ground following the toddlers was unaware of any other pup, and Biscuit was the same.

Off lead they turned a corner and met face to face.

Perhaps they knew that they were related, or perhaps it was a case of ooh you look exactly the same age and build as me - LETS PLAY! Either way, they were immediately overwhelmed with excitement. As Biscuit's Mummy Ellie gathered the lead, the two were outside in a flash.

Before you continue down the page, click play on the video, it provides the most realistic soundtrack to the Vizsla's excitement!

This was what happened, yes the camera shutter was fast, the iso high, but at full pelt of 30-40mph these two were unstoppable...

They pounced, panted, rolled, tumbled, laughed and barked with full energy.

Then after a few minutes of introduction, they had another surprise in stall... Off we trotted down a farmers track, there was another Vizsla waiting for them...

Their Vizsla Momma Effy sat patiently as the two pups tore around the corner...

The two pups bounded up, bowed and introduced themselves.

Apollo attempted to instigate play with his mother by boxing her... but she was having none of it and quickly put him back in his place.

She showed them how to be a little more calm...

But that soon changed as we threw balls across the field!

Effy, strong and so fast, won the race every time.

Nevertheless Biscuit showed off her excellent aviation abilities... leaping through the air chasing her brother...

They ran laps around one another, bowing submissively in turns at one another.

Effy too showed off her light footed retrieving skills.

... and then taught her pups to bury their finds...

After relentless play, they were tired yet so happy.

With energy burnt, they sat for a family portrait...

Before we all said goodbye, promising to meet again soon for another play...

It took about 30seconds once in the car for Apollo to fall fast asleep... dreaming of nibbling Biscuits ear and winning a game of fetch against Effy...
