The best kind of walks

Aura had just settled...

Quick! We grabbed our boots and jackets, Apollo ran alongside with his lead in his mouth.

We left her sleeping happily in her play pen...

... and got out for a good walk with Apollo.

Apollo was so happy to have some time away from his boisterous little sister.

He ran alongside, so excited to be outside.

...but oh so slightly bored at all the photographs required...

"Ooh Apollo - sit! The Bokeh is so beautiful!" I shrilled.

If he could talk, he'd have muttered a string of expletives...

Then, after a few moments, we continued winding our way through the trees...

We dipped through the woodlands into a large clearing next to a lake. Here dogs have space to run off lead and socialise with others.

Apollo sat and watched for a few moments...

He stared off into the distance...

His beautiful strong stance was suddenly broken as he took to full sprint.

Like a Greyhound he raced over to another dog he had spotted.

Uh oh!!

"Apollo DROP"

"Apollo... Leave! That's not your ball!!"

Before we knew it, he suddenly ran over to meet a big brown Labrador... and stole his ball!!!

Oh no, the figures in the distance - the Lab's owners started pacing towards us, us pacing towards them. Both parties calling the dogs.

"Apollo...!" We shouted

"Brownie...!" They shouted

What?

Wait.

We mirrored their surprise as we got closer. "That's Brownie?" We asked, "That's Apollo?" they replied.

With enthusiasm we shook hands and introduced ourselves.

The two pups needed no introduction...

They both attend the same Doggy Day Care, and each day they are inseparable.

Both puppies, under 12months, run rings around one another, all day long! Then, after a few hours of play (they're both very ball motivated) they collapse and Apollo naps with his head on Brownie.

When we pick him up, the awesome team at daycare tell us that Apollo and Brownie are inseparable and love playing ball.

It was great having the opportunity to catch up with Brownie's owners! We chatted for an hour while the two pups chased balls.

...and showed off in attempts to do their best aviation dog impressions...

... getting some great height as they leapt into the air...

Then, as the sun dipped closer towards the horizon... we bid our farewells, knowing that the dogs would be reunited in the morning...

Brownie, buddy, it was lovely!
