On the Lake, Derwentwater, Keswick

We couldn't wait to get out onto the water.

Between the toddler, myself and the dogs constantly begging to paddle in the water eventually my sister in law (I can legally say that now!) finally gave in "oh come on then the lot of you... "

And off we set to the Keswick Launch Company.  With four adults, two kiddos and two dogs, we hired our own boat, jumped aboard and hit the water...

This was one step closer to my dream of spending a lazy week in a sail boat on this lake...

With nothing except the lapping of the lake and backdrop of favourite hills... utter bliss...

The dogs had a blast too...

Sniffing at the fresh air with intent and lazing in the sunshine...

Chatting away in the midday sun, the light glistened all around us.

While our small engine left a little wake behind the boat...

...and Aura gazed longingly into the water, desperate for a swim...

Andrew and his little skipper steered the path towards the little islands dotted around the lake...

...and we played games of fantasy house hunting - I want that one, no, that one...

A lakeside home with it's own boat launch, err, yes please

... and the little islands, ooh imagine that as a perfect home - we agreed that we could all be island neighbours, but then the toddler came up with a very serious point "wait, if you can't get phone signal on the lake, then how can we catch Pokemon?

So, we chugged back to the lakeside, the dogs sleepy and the littles in search of the illusive Pikachui...

We all watched as the shore became closer with each purr of the little engine...

After a lazy while on the lake, we turned and bid farewell to our favourite hills...

While the guys mored up, I enticed Aura to stay still with her favourite Lilys Kitchen snack bars...

...but after gobbling her favourite bar her eyes grew heavy and as we moored up, she snored happily in the sun...

...like me dreaming of that lakeview break on the water
