Haydens Post, Snow King Mountain Resort, Jackson

The snow came in.

At first on the slopes of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, we loved it. Oh my the soft fresh powder, the smooth silky snow was wonderful to ski.

Then, it came time to leave.

We had packed up, said goodbye to the mountain. Making our way to the small airport the roads were slow, visibility nearly down to nothing. The flight updates started showing cancellation after cancellation. As a bunch of excellent drivers we figured we could hire a car to drive the four hours to catch our connecting flight from Salt Lake City, but were laughed at, and the passes had suffered avalanches.

We were stuck in Jackson.

With such a big group of us, finding somewhere that could accommodate us all for a few days was a task, then the Snow King Mountain Resort pulled through...

We ended up in a huge cabin on the mountain, and just a slippery walk a few minutes away was the main resort centre. In the centre was Haydens Post.

A bar looking out onto the mountain, stocked with delicious wines, ales, fresh coffee and delicious treats.

We hunkered down beside the fire...

Sipping our way through fresh filtered coffee and hot chocolate while the storm outside prevailed.

Not sure of when conditions would ease, we munched our way through the menu, loading up on calories to protect us from the cold (eh herm, yea)...

With no where to be, and all the time in the world, we just simply took the opportunity to to unwind, catch up and just be.

Ah... thanks Snow King, you were a blast!
