Blue hue

This has been the first day in a long run that I have awoken to a non agony wrist and arm, perhaps it's just extreme physical evolution in order to deal with the pain. Perhaps though, the prescribed painkillers  have accumulated in my system. When I visited the doctor, the pain was so excruciating, both mentally and physically as she tested my reflexes, frowned thoughtfully and explained the inevitable procedures for carpal tunnel surgery.

As a child in the mountains, an accident on a bike severed a hole through my foot. The moment I looked down as the pumping blood cleared to show the sliced tissue and exposed bones lives with me forever. Apparently the surgery is mainly conducted under localised anaesthetic so I'm conscious through the procedure. Cough, WHAT?! I carefully explained that I would not be able to control my fight or flight instincts unless generally anaesthetised or stone cold outta it on fine grade liquor, in a Hulk type manner, I may cause alot of damage. Not knowing whether I was threatening or begging, I was then asked

on that note, what is your alcohol intake

My main fear about carpal tunnel is the impact it will have over the 6-8week period following the dissection of my wrist. Not only will my office presence suffer but the impact will be on everything from driving, climbing, eating to picking up a camera.

But, it may be better than the whole blue wrist support look that I've been sporting for the past few months. The worst thing about the brace has to be the impact the sewn in metal support rod has on over sensitive store alarms.
