Chilterns Food Magazine

There's something pretty spectacular about a great community with values which align. If you've seen the Open Gardens post on Pointers End I've mentioned what a great experience it has been joining such a great village.

My favourite way to experience a new location, a city, a new culture is to experience the great food and history behind producers. Exploring the restaurants, artisans within our new local community has been a great way to get a feel for the area.

There's a local publication which beautifully captures just that, the delicious essence of the Chilterns - The Chilterns Food Magazine.

For the Summer Issue, almost a year since the magazine was founded in 2016, we headed to the Wild Strawberry Cafe to meet some of the wonderful artisans featured in this months magazine.

If you live locally or ever find yourself passing through this beautiful part of the world, pop into the Wild Strawberry for a delicious coffee and cake!

It's a beautiful spot - in a gorgeous yurt!

With a beautiful outdoor space which is perfectly pup friendly!

We popped inside to meet the team behind the magazine and many of the faces in the images showcased were there to share the story behind their wonderful produce.

There were so many delicious treats for us to nibble through as we chatted away...

All produced as locally as possible with great heritage infredients.

Now, while the nibbles were delicious, the drinks were pretty divine! We're incredibly lucky to have so many great Vineyards just on our doorstep... Daws Hill Vineyard had some delicious summery white wines to try.

...and if British grapes aren't your tipple, the Chilterns have a pretty fantastic array of gin Producers too! Campfire Gin is fast becoming a favourite.

With some great new friends, delicious food and great drinks enjoyed, with the sun setting we toasted to a great evening and a great publication.

Ahh... thanks for having us!
