No. 5 Deli, Thame

You may be aware, but something's shifted in me and I'm really not all that into animal products at the moment. You may also be aware, but after a decade of struggling with heart disease five years ago I was diagnosed as heart disease free!

That, is my biggest achievement in life to date!

Anyway, it may be my body craving more plant based foods, but sometimes I also crave a little meat and dairy. On those days, I try to source the best foods as locally as possible.

Luckily it's not that difficult with some great food spots on the doorstep. Thame has some great local producers - the Deli at No. 5 is a saturday favourite for stocking up on preserves and local gifts.

The Deli also has some excellent local cheeses - we stocked up on a small batch local sheep milk mild cheese.

We also picked up a little slice of dry cured hog ham.

The garden is brimming with fresh produce and we have so many vine tomatoes.

With a few select pieces from the deli we returned home to the afternoon sun and got to work on lunch while waiting for builders to arrive to carry out some surveying of the house ready for some work in the new year - which can be followed over at Pointers End
