To the mountains...
After an enthusiastic series of facility oggling, we headed to the Austrain mountains. It was my first time in the country, a quick transfer and we were nearly at our destination of Zell am See.
The hotel, The Mountain Lake Resort was lovely, after a quick drop of the bags and bite to eat, we checked out the views onto the mountain behind us. Under a blanket of stars we headed out into the lakeside town.
The streets were quiet, apart from our rolling laughter. For the team, it had been a long few weeks and we were in need of a break.
We found a little door to the side of a hotel. A small sign indicated it was a little bar.
Down a stair case we found a rugged cave type basement with great drinks and good music.
There we caught up, instigating Scandinavian songs we learnt two years back in the depths of the Arctic circle.
We slipped away after a while, launching snowballs and collapsing back into the comfort of the hotel.
The next morning we caught the first lifts up onto the mountains.
The sun was bright, the snow soft, and with my poor form and extreme snow plough, we chased the runs.
Rehydration was needed, so at the top of a mountain we followed the sound of Europop. We grabbed a bite to eat, and planned the next runs down. A pretty good start to a pretty good week...
